Purdon was engaged by the Yowani Country Club to undertake Development Applications and Works Approvals for the partial redesign of the golf course to accommodate sale of part of the land for the new mixed-use residential development over a portion of the site (Newlyne).

The replacement and relocation of the Club House necessitated the realignment of Yowani’s 18 Hole Golf Course to start and finish at a new location, but also provided an opportunity to vastly improve the course which had remained relatively unchanged since its establishment in 1954. The re-design was to rejuvenate the golf course, retain its 18 holes and provide capacity for the new Club House.

The Works Approval was required due to the new entry proposed off Barton Highway which was subject to the planning requirements of the National Capital Authority.

Additional applications were undertaken for amendments to the club house design due to design development.
