Shop-Top Housing DA Assessment
QUEANBEYAN-PALERANG REGIONAL COUNCIL
Purdon, on the behalf of the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council, undertook development assessment of a new large shop-top housing complex in the Queanbeyan Central Business District (CBD) at the corner of Rutledge and Crawford Streets.
The project was deemed a “Regionally significant development” by virtue of its scale, heritage value and sensitive location close to the town centre.
Purdon was engaged by QPRC to assess the DA under the EPA Act on behalf of QPRC. This involved managing all aspects of the DA assessment consistent with relevant rules and guidelines, and submitting the DA and associated reports to the QPRC delegate for approval.
This was a complex piece of statutory planning worked that involved extensive liaison with QPRC staff and a harmonised approach to assessment.
