Strathairn School DA & Estate Development Plan

Purdon provided planning services for the Strathnairn Primary School project from the initial Estate Development Plan through to the Development Application for the new ACT Government Early Childhood Education and Care to Year 6 primary school.
Purdon was initially engaged by Riverview Projects to prepare the Estate Development Plan and associated subdivision application for the school site at Block 5 Section 37 Strathnairn. The work established a 5-hectare primary school site, public open space and supporting road infrastructure, and involved coordination with ACT Government agencies and utility providers to address infrastructure, servicing, heritage, leasing and other planning requirements.
Building on this work, Purdon subsequently provided planning services for the school Development Application, including review of design options against the Estate Development Plan requirements, pre-DA community consultation and coordination of the planning approval process. The development comprised the new school buildings and associated facilities, school hall, play areas, landscaping, parking, bicycle parking, verge crossings and signage.
Purdon also assisted the project team with planning advice and development exemption reviews during delivery of the project.
