Purdon was engaged by Manteena on behalf of Veolia to prepare the planning approvals for the Materials Recovery Facility and Recycling Road in Hume. This involved several applications as well as addressing special requirements of the National Capital Plan.

The Materials Recovery Facility will sort paper, cardboard, glass, plastic, steel and aluminum. Processing 115,000 tonnes per year, the facility will reduce the amount of waste ending up in landfill.
