Since 2019, Purdon has been engaged to provide planning and project management services for the Kingston Arts Precinct (KAP), a significant ACT Government initiative led by ArtsACT and the Suburban Land Agency. The project seeks to establish a leading cultural destination within Canberra, supporting contemporary visual arts and strengthening public engagement with local, regional and national creative practices.
Purdon’s role has involved coordinating master planning, subdivision design and environmental impact assessment to support the staged delivery of the precinct. This has included detailed consideration of site constraints, particularly in relation to contamination and heritage, to inform a robust and implementable planning framework aligned with statutory requirements. The work has enabled future development outcomes while maintaining consistency with the broader vision for the precinct, with completion anticipated by 2028.
