Industry Testing of the ACT’s New Planning System

ACT GOVERNMENT (EPSDD)

In November 2023, the ACT Government through EPSDD introduced a new planning system for the ACT. The new planning system is still currently being bedded down, but prior to and throughout the commencement phase EPSDD undertook new system testing with a select group of planning practitioners in the ACT. Purdon, being the firm that submits more development applications than any other in the ACT, was invited to participate in both rounds of system testing.

Purdon was able to bring unique insights and experience to bear on the new system and was able to provide that feedback to EPSDD in a constructive and confidential manner, thus supporting the smooth transition from old system to new.
