Purdon was engaged by BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir and Community Centre (BAPS), in support of a development application (DA) for a temple and community centre on Block 2 Section 60 Taylor.
The proposed development includes a temple and community centre with an ancillary internal caretaker’s residence, ancillary temporary accommodation living spaces for visiting monks and associated uses and structures.
The site consisted of vacant land with no vegetation or vehicle access directly to the block and was the subject of a Direct Sale process through the ACT Government. The Temple DA was lodged as a merit track assessment with ACTPLA and included an assessment of the proposed development against all relevant planning Codes.
