Arscott House Major Plan Amendment

Purdon was engaged by the University of Canberra to provide planning services for the rezoning of the Arscott House site on Block 42 Section 65, Belconnen. Our role included reviewing development options for the site’s strategic planning context under the new Territory Plan, preparing an application for a Major Plan Amendment to facilitate mixed-use development, managing stakeholder engagement with relevant agencies, and overseeing the approvals process with the Territory Planning Authority.

Purdon also led targeted community engagement to support the project and mitigate potential risks. We informed and sought feedback from the local community, including a survey and flyer distribution to approximately 2,000 nearby residential and business addresses likely to be impacted. This early engagement supported transparency, addressed concerns upfront, and contributes to a smoother assessment and approval process.
