EAST LAKE ELECTRICAL INFRASTRUCTURE
Preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement
The project involved assessment of a series of route alignments for the new electrical cables within a sensitive urban environment. The cables were required to traverse areas of significant contamination, water courses leading directly into Lake Burley Griffin as well as major wetlands (Jerrabomberra Nature Reserve).
The project also involved assessment of a new zone substation located adjacent to the wetlands and habitat for migratory birds.
Purdon Planning were project managers for the consultant team and principal authors of the EIS. We managed all approval processes including NCA WA approval, EIS approval and various DA approvals.
The project delivered a balance of competing objectives in regards to project feasibility and costs together with environmental sensitivities and various Agency requirements.
