Possible Options for Re-Use

In developing the broad options to be tested against each site, the Government has identified four main ways in which the surplus school sites could be used in the future, within the existing land use policy of the Territory Plan.

These options were reviewed as part of the Stage 1 Consultations, involving the Options Workshops.  A number of additional options were presented by the community.  These have common characteristics to the original options and are called Option 1a, 3a and 4a.

Option 1 (Adobe PDF File 140Kb) - Retain all school buildings for community use and make the surrounding grounds urban open space.   The initial Option 1 plan (Adobe PDF File  970Kb) developed by the Government showed a more detailed example of possible development outcome.

Option 1a (Adobe PDF File 330Kb) - Retain all school buildings for community use and make the surrounding grounds availbale for use by the community groups who occupy the former school building

Option 2 (Adobe PDF File 140Kb) - Retain the school buildings for community use, redevelop part of the site.  The initial Option 2 plan (Adobe PDF File 1Mb) developed by the Government showed a more detailed example of possible development outcome.

Option 3 (Adobe PDF file 140Kb) - Retain some of the school buildings for community use, redevelop most of the site for aged housing or other uses.  The initial Option 3 plan (Adobe PDF File 1.1Mb) developed by the Government showed a more detailed example of possible development outcome.

Option 3a (Adobe PDF File 445Kb)- Retain some of the site for redevelopment of a multi-purpose community building, redevelop most of the site for aged housing or other uses
