Options Workshops
The Options Workshops are now complete. The consultants held public Options Workshops in:
- Belconnen
- Woden/Weston Creek
- Tuggeranong.
The purpose of the Options Workshops was to:
- discuss the four broad options for re-use of the sites
- consider if there are other appropriate options
- identify community needs, which may be both at a district level and a local level.
Representatives were invited from a number of interested groups including members of the local communities, stakeholders, relevant professional institutes and peak bodies, active interest groups, and groups seeking space in community facility buildings. Members of the public were also invited to attend the Options Workshops.
Participants at these workshops expressed their views on the needs of the district, existing community infrastructure and how the re-use of these sites could encourage the development of stronger communities. Over 200 people attended these Workshops.
People who registered to attend the Workshops were sent an Information Pack explaining the Workshops. Separate presentations were made during the Workshops outlining the process, background and issues to be considered. Copies of these presentations are available:
